On August 31, Rep. Howard joined with Rep. Matt Krause to issue a bipartisan letter to the Texas Health & Human Services Commission, asking them to reconsider or delay new changes to the reimbursement rates for acute therapy.
HHSC declined that request and moved forward with the new rules, which are anticipated to further reduce access to these vital services. Today, Rep. Howard issued the following press release to voice her opposition to the changes:
